Summary:

The revamped cyber.cl serves as the gateway to the Santiago Chamber of Commerce’s events, offering users a personalized shopping experience based on their interests and favorite brands. Users can access this unified account through the CyberApp mobile application.

The new site had a pre-launch during the Travel Sale, leaving a great first impression, and was fully launched during the Cyber Day event in June 2024, handling over 100,000 concurrent users and onboarding 1,000 new users per minute.

As a Software Architect, I played a pivotal role in designing a high-traffic website solution. We chose Next.js as the framework, paired with AWS for hosting, leveraging SST for packaging and deploying the solution across development and production environments. My contributions spanned both development and infrastructure, including:

- Scaffolding the project with Next.js, setting up coding standards with ESLint, Prettier, and pre-commit hooks.

- Automating and configuring deployment pipelines via GitHub Actions integrated with SST for AWS environments.

- Developing the authentication module using next-auth, including login, registration, user profile, and interest pages.

- Integrating social login with Google.

- Implementing the site layout and navigation system.

- Using middleware to secure user routes.

- Building onboarding pages for new user creation workflows.

- Creating an article editor for generating content on the Magazine page.

- Leveraging React Server Components to enhance system performance.

- Conducting stress tests pre-launch and devising a contingency plan for high user loads.

This project demonstrated my ability to architect and deliver scalable, robust, and user-friendly solutions under high-demand scenarios.
