Summary:

The revamped cyber.cl is the gateway to the Santiago Chamber of Commerce’s events, offering users a personalized shopping experience based on their interests and favorite brands. Users accessed this unified account through the CyberApp mobile application.

The new site was pre-launched during the Travel Sale, where it made a strong first impression, and was fully launched during the Cyber Day event in June 2024. During launch, it successfully handled over 100,000 concurrent users and onboarded 1,000 new users per minute.

As a Software Architect, I played a pivotal role in designing a high-traffic website solution. We selected Next.js as the framework and AWS for hosting, leveraging SST to package and deploy the solution across development and production environments. My contributions spanned both development and infrastructure, including:

- Scaffolded the project using Next.js and established coding standards with ESLint, Prettier, and pre-commit hooks.
- Automated and configured deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions integrated with SST for AWS environments.
- Developed the authentication module using next-auth, including login, registration, user profile, and interest pages.
- Integrated social login with Google.
- Implemented the site layout and navigation system.
- Secured user routes using middleware.
- Built onboarding pages to support new user creation workflows.
- Created an article editor for content generation on the Magazine page.
- Leveraged React Server Components to improve system performance.
- Conducted stress tests prior to launch and devised contingency plans to handle high user loads.
